Environmentally Friendly Non-Fluorocarbon Refrigerant R1234yf

This product uses the non-fluorocarbon refrigerant R1234yf, which has an extremely low global warming potential (GWP: 1). Our proprietary microchannel condenser technology also reduces the refrigerant charge volume significantly. As part of the Galilei Groupʼs “Dramatic Future 2050” sustainability initiative focused on transitioning to green refrigerants, we are advancing the use of this environmentally responsible refrigerant. R1234yfʼs low flammability ensures safe maintenance and inspection even in kitchen environments. *GWP values are based on official notifications by Japanʼs Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Ministry of the Environment (2023).

What is R1234yf?

“R1234yf” is a refrigerant that is mildly flammable and non-toxic and has zero ozone depletion potential and a GWP1 rating.^*3 Natural refrigerants “R600a (isobutane)” and “R290 (propane)” are also environmentally friendly. Because of their high flammability, however, there substances require strict safety precautions. Compared to these natural refrigerants, “R1234yf” is known to be much easier to handle and safer.^*4 Its another advantage is for you to readily inspect repair your refrigerating systems on site.

R1234yf has been announced by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as eco-friendly refrigerant that replaces HFCs.

UPRIGHT TYPE annual power consumption: URD-150RMFA (the model made in 2015) 1,803kWh/year, URD-150RMFC (the model made in 2023) 956kWh/year, ARD-150RXFA (the model made in 2025) 515kWh/year. Energy-saving level: about 71%.

TABLE TYPE annual power consumption: YRW-180RMFA (the model made in 2015) 1,026kWh/year, YRW-180RMFC (the model made in 2023) 548kWh/year, AYW-180RXFA (the model made in 2025) 373kWh/year. Energy-saving level: about 64%.

Measuring conditions: Outside air temperature at 30°C, humidity at 60%, supply power at 220V/50Hz, unloaded, thermostatic control with 3°C for refrigerator and -20°C for freezer.
